Where the future will take us. Omar Flórez, Fabiola León-Velarde and Aracely Quispe in conversation with Jorge Paredes

Arequipa 2019,

Human interaction with machines, high levels of connectivity and the ability to travel to other planets: these are all realities or may soon be. Every day these things are more and more present in the conversation about what defines us as a society and what awaits us as a species. After two centuries of independence, and with the bicentenary approaching, three important Peruvian scientists talk about these challenges. With Omar Flórez, an Arequipan with a degree in Computing Science from UNSA and Senior Artificial Intelligence Research Manager at Capital One (San Francisco, United States); Fabiola León-Velarde, Chair of the National Council of Science and Technology; and Aracely Quispe, who studied Systems Engineering in Peru and later specialized in Astronautical Engineering in the USA, which allowed her to enter NASA. She participated on the LRO lunar exploration probe project as part of the team exploring and monitoring the Moon, and currently works as Flight Operations Systems Engineer for the James Webb space telescope programme. In conversation with Jorge Paredes.

Event organized together with the Bicentenary Project, with the support of El Comercio
