Tracking down Colombia's other histories. Maribel Abello, Juan Leonel Giraldo and Vanessa de la Torre in conversation with Margarita Vidal

Cartagena 2020,

With a gripping narrative, Hasta ahora te creo by Maribel Abello Banfi tells a number of stories of women oppressed by the patriarchal structure of the Colombian Caribbean. Juan Leonel Giraldo is the author of El agua de abajo, a collection of 25 essays which show Colombia from the point of view of craftspeople, fishermen, peasants, artists, sportspeople and activists who make up a country of great human diversity, but one which is hardly known. Vanessa de la Torre (Colombia) has just published the book Historias de amor en campos de guerra, which brings together the testimonies of six extraordinary women who, for different reasons, became victims during an armed conflict they thought they could never escape and who, in the midst of this drama, experienced intense and memorable amorous adventures. They will talk to Margarita Vidal.
