Monja Coen in conversation with Alejandra Martins

Zen for the distracted

Arequipa 2020,

Monja Coen is a Brazilian Zen Buddhist nun. Before dedicating herself to the religious life, she worked as a journalist for different Brazilian media outlets. In her most recent book, Zen para distraídos, the author shares the basic concepts of Buddhism, including meditation and other ancient techniques that offer readers the chance to boost their concentration, become more assertive and generally improve their well-being. Living in big cities, with their relentless pace, means we are constantly experiencing all kinds of distractions, which can become a source of anxiety. This book shows us how to overcome these day-to-day challenges in our everyday lives. In conversation with BBC Mundo journalist Alejandra Martins.
