Marie-Noëlle Hébert in conversation with Ingrid Bejerman

The Body as a Battlefield

Arequipa 2021,

Marie-Noëlle Hébert (Canada) is a Canadian graphic designer and illustrator. Largely self-taught in this area, she also has experience as an art historian and a screenwriter. She is the author of a number of illustrations for the documentary Carricks - dans le sillage des Irlandais (2017, Viveka Melki). She recently published the autobiographical graphic novel My Body in Pieces, in which she reflects on the difficulties she experienced in terms of her attitude to her body from the age of eleven, when her father and the people around her started referring to her as fat, and how these difficulties lasted into her adult years. She will talk to Ingrid Bejerman.
