Women in Peruvian Politics: Harassed and Empowered

Arequipa 2021,
2021 is a historical year for Perú, not only because of its 200 years of independence, but because for the first time since we are a republic, the participation of women in parliament reached 49 seats. However, not everything is good news: the cabinet of ministers is still uneven. Structural, cultural and institutional factors that limit women’s representation in politics persist, apart from the perpetuation of stereotypes, harassment and violence. With Mercedes Aráoz, ex Prime Minister; and the ex congresswoman Rosa Mavila in conversation with Mabel Huertas.
