Adela Cortina (Spain) has honorary doctorates from a number of universities in Spain and across Europe and Latin America, she is a member of the Spanish Royal Academy of Moral and Political Sciences, has been on the jury of the Princess of Asturias Awards for Communication, Humanities and Social Sciences. She is also the author of over 30 publications, including her book Aporofobia. El rechazo al pobre an essay about the systematic aversion and neglect suffered by the less favoured members of society. In her most recent work, Ética cosmopolita. Una apuesta por la cordura en tiempos de pandemia (2021), the writer and philosopher reflects on some of the crucial questions of our times: how will we overcome the chaos caused by the Covid-19 pandemic? What will the future bring? Cortina talks about these essential matters with Sandra Borda Guzmán.
