La Cachada Teatro(El Salvador) began in August in 2011, the result of intensive work of female empowerment through theatre. The group’s members are women from the informal sector: street vendors, market sellers and house workers, all single mothers. Their plays are based on the lives of the members, under the direction of Egly Larreynaga, who has much experience in El Salvador and abroad. On this occasion, they present the play Si vos no hubieras nacido, produced in collaboration with FITU (Teatro UNAM), La Casa del Teatro and Fundación Sertull, which deals with maternity, sexuality and violence, based on the experiences of those who make up this theatre group.
