The writer and academic Pedro Ángel Palou (Mexico) presents his ambitious book México: La novela, which tells the story of the North American metropolis through the family histories of four families, over the course of 500 years, from the fall of the Aztec Empire to the earthquake of 1985. Palou is the author of 40 books, including Amores enormes (Jorge Ibargüengoitia Prize), Con la muerte en los puños (Xavier Villaurrutia Prize) and the historical novels Zapata, Morelos: Morir es nada and Cuauhtémoc: La defensa del Quinto Sol. An honorary doctor from various universities in Latin America, he has a doctorate in Social Sciences from the College of Michoacán and lectures at Tufts University in the United States.
