Juan Tallón in conversation with Guillermo Núñez

Querétaro 2022,
Somewhere between a novel based on truth and literary non-fiction, between folly and hallucination, Obra maestra reconstructs, at a pace worthy of a page-turning thriller, the mysterious disappearance of the sculpture Equal-Parallel/Guernica-Bengasi, by the US artist Richard Serra. After it had been exhibited for the inauguration of Madrid’s Reina Sofía Museum in 1986, the work was stored, due to a lack of space in the museum galleries, by an art logistics company, which moved the piece to its warehouse in Arganda del Rey. Fifteen years later the Reina Sofía wished to put the artwork on show once again, but it turned out that all 38 tons of sculpture had disappeared. How is it possible that something like that could occur? Juan Tallón (Spain) has published a book in which everything seems unreal, and yet it really happened. In conversation with the publisher and critic Guillermo Núñez.
