Untold Microcosms Panel: Latin American Writers in the British Museum

Year Round Events,

Foyles is delighted to partner with Charco Press, the Santo Domingo Centre of Excellence for Latin American Research (SDCELAR) at the British Museum and Hay Festival to host a discussion with contributors to Untold Microcosms: Latin American Writers in the British Museum. This landmark project invites leading contemporary Latin American authors to write about an object stored in the Americas collection at the British Museum not currently on display in the museum galleries.

The British Museum’s Central and South America collection contains approximately 62,000 objects, of which less than 1% is on display. Ten leading writers offer stories inspired by objects in the collection and suggest new ways of looking at the past and articulating its absences.
