A star-studded celebration of the spoken word, with artists from across our festival programme each performing pieces personal to them. The inimitable Miriam Margolyes takes to the stage alongside comedian, Greg Davies, Larry Lamb from Gavin and Stacey, star of Wonka and the Royal Shakespeare Company, Paterson Joseph, the children's author, Cressida Cowell, and the actress and playwright, Joanna Pickering. Your host for the gala is the author and children's laureate, Frank Cottrell-Boyce. He'll also introduce local school children who will perform poems they've learned off by heart especially for Hay festival.
