Gabriel Boric talks to Jon Lee Anderson

Just months after his four-year term in office finishes, ex-president of Chile Gabriel Boric comes to Hay Festival to reflect on the mark left by his government. It began as Chileans took to the streets in 2019 demanding social, educational and economic reforms. Boric was a student radical who became the youngest president in his country’s history. He speaks to international correspondent and author Jon Lee Anderson, whose career has covered conflicts and revolutionary movements, including in Afghanistan, Iraq, Syria, Lebanon, Libya and Somalia.
