Simon Armitage

Spend an exhilarating evening with the Poet Laureate as he brings to life the ancient, epic poem Gilgamesh, sharing his own dynamic new version. Armitage transports us back to the very origins of civilisation and storytelling, as the eponymous demigod battles for dominance and undertakes an impossible quest…

Gilgamesh originated in Ancient Mesopotamia nearly 4,000 years ago, yet its themes of power, loyalty, love and loss are as relevant as ever today. An unmissable opportunity to hear verse performed by a master poet at his very best.
