The author and filmmaker conjures the life of her great aunt, the heiress Nica Rothschild, who abandoned her life of privilege in Europe for New York’s 1950s Jazz scene. She was a patron and muse to some of the greatest C20th musicians. Charlie Parker died in her apartment, Thelonius Monk in her arms.
