Focus: Scientific Dissemination

Cartagena 2015,

After having participated in three polar research trips, the biologist Sergio Rossi will talk about some important matters related to the Antarctic: survival in a such an extreme climate, the formation of the hole in the ozone layer, the effects of climate change, the ecological deterioration caused by the permanent bases located there, the possibility (and dangers) of economic exploitation of its immense riches, and why a massive accumulation of ice in our planet’s most remote zone is essential for our future as a species.
