The sociologist, writer and professor Saskia Sassen was awarded the 2013 Prince of Asturias Prize in the Social Sciences category for her contribution to understanding urban sociology and the phenomenon of globalisation. At this event she will talk about her work and research, which focuses on the social, economic and political dimension of globalisation, as well as the global cities model.
