South Asia has witnessed the confluence of Sufi, Vedic and Tantric practices which have both informed and enriched each other and brought about new syncretic trends which continue to shape the history of this region. This cultural process will be explored by Sufi-scholar Shankar Nair, Sanskrit researcher and dancer Lubna Marium, and Arunava Sinha, whose translation of Rabi Sankar Bal's astonishing story of Rumi as related by the traveller Ibn-Battuta, will be out soon.
