Herbalist to King Charles I, John Parkinson was a master apothecary, herbalist and gardener. His magnum opus was published in 1640 and in this new edited version the authors have printed his clear and lively descriptions of the chosen plants’ healing qualities, with a modern commentary and contemporary take on his almost-forgotten herbal recipes.
