Hay Festival Promotions are designed to randomly reward entrants who (1) follow Hay Festival on social media and (2) engage with the specified giveaway Tweet, Facebook post or Instagram post (“Promotion post”).
This promotion is run by Hay Festival of Literature & the Arts Ltd, company registration number 02258780 registered at the address The Drill Hall, 25 Lion Street, Hay On Wye, HR3 5AD (“Promoter”).
Promotion is open between the dates specified on the Promotion Post (“Promotion term”).
This promotion is in no way sponsored, endorsed or administered by, or associated with Twitter, Facebook or Instagram. By participating you hereby release and hold harmless Twitter, Facebook or Instagram from any and all liability associated with this Promotion.
To enter the Promotion you must be 18 years of age or older at the time of entry and a resident of the United Kingdom.
Promotion is not open to directors or employees of Promoter, including immediate family and household members of each such employee. Promoter reserves the right to verify the eligibility of entrants.
In order to be eligible, participants must follow the entry requirements as specified on the Promotion Post. No other means of entry will be accepted for the Promotion.
Submissions must be made before the end of the Promotion Term and entries received after this time will not be accepted.
One entry per person. Multiple entries will be invalid and may lead to disqualification. Entries via agents or third parties are invalid.
No purchase is required to enter the Promotion and will not increase your chance of winning.
You can enter the Promotion using the instructions provided on the Promotion Post.
The prize shall be awarded as follows: a prize draw will take place after the end of the Promotion Term. Winners will be chosen at random from all entries. Prizes will then be posted via second class post to the provided addresses once acceptance has been confirmed within 1-4 working days.
The winner(s) of the Promotion shall be notified as follows: via direct message on the competition closing date, where they will also be asked to confirm address details.
The winner(s) will be required to confirm acceptance of the prize within 4 working days. Winner(s) may be required to provide eligibility information such as age and address.
If a winner does not accept the prize within 4 days of being notified, they will forfeit their prize and the Promoter reserves the right to choose another winner(s). Promoter’s decision is final and Promoter reserves the right not to correspond on any matter.
The prize for the Promotion consists of only what is specified within the text of the Promotion Post.
Promoter reserves the right to cancel or amend these Terms and Conditions or change the Prize (to one of equal or greater value) as required by the circumstances. No cash equivalent to the Prize is available.
The name, region of residence and likeness of the winners may be used by Promoter for reasonable post-event publicity in any form including on Promoters website and social media pages at no cost.
By entering, all entrants consent to the use of their personal data by the Promoter for the purposes of the administration of the Promotion and any other purposes to which the entrant has consented. Further details on how we process personal data can be found in our Privacy Policy.
Promoter reserves the right to hold void, cancel, suspend or amend the Promotion where it becomes necessary to do so.
Promoter may at its sole discretion disqualify any entrant found to be tampering or interfering with the entry process or operation of the website, or to be acting in any manner deemed to be disruptive to the operation or administration of the Promotion.
These terms and conditions shall be governed by English law, and the parties submit to the non-exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of England and Wales.
