100 books to mark 100 years of women voting

2018 marks 100 years since some British women first got the vote. It is a moment to reflect on how far equality has come, and how far we still have to go.

To mark it, we've partnered our friends at The Pool  to find 100 books by women from the last 100 years that deserve some more attention. These books will be discussed and celebrated at Hay Festival Wales, 24 May – 3 June, and at our festivals in Mexico, Peru, Spain and Colombia, and on our digital channels throughout the year.

We want the list to celebrate great books of all genres, fiction or non-fiction, and for all ages. There are only two criteria: it must be written by a woman, or women, and must have been published in 1918 or after.

Anyone can submit - readers, writers, and publishers from all around the world - we want as many ideas as possible before our final 100 are revealed on the eve of Hay Festival Wales. Everyone who nominates a book will be entered into a prize draw to win 10 of the selected titles (see terms and conditions).
