Support us

As a charity, Hay Festival relies on the generous support of our community to enable us to continue our work around the globe.

Our Vision

Hay Festival Global is a beacon, an international symbol of hope for the collective, creative imagination and a better future. We want our audiences to feel empowered to live differently. We are a creative catalyst for change through literature, arts and ideas. Founded in Wales, we became a fully operational charity in February 2022.

Our Mission

We seek to inspire, examine and entertain with sustainable events and projects around the world. Offering innovative cultural platforms to discover new ideas, Hay Festival invites audiences to imagine the world as it is and as it might be. It is a catalyst for change and a community that is open and accessible to everyone.

Learning and Engagement

Our year-round programme of free outreach and education programmes brings Hay Festival inspiration to communities all over the world, widening cultural participation and inspiring the world-changers of tomorrow. From the Scribblers Tour, Scribblers Cymraeg, Programme for Schools and Hay Joven programmes for young learners to our Adult Learning Days and work to support refugees, our projects have earned multiple awards and reach thousands annually.
