He studied filmmaking at UNAM (Mexico) and EICTV (Escuela de San Antonio de los Baños, Cuba). He is Dean of the Faculty of Social Sciences and Education at the University of Cartagena. He directs the research group: "Cine, historia y cultura" and is the author of academic articles, documentaries and books on the social history of cinema in Cartagena de Indias.
