Margarita Sada studied a degree in Graphic Design at the Escuela de Diseño del INBA and a Master's degree in Fine Arts, specialising in Painting, at the Academia de San Carlos, UNAM. She has published more than 40 books with the most important publishers in the country, won the prize for the best illustrated book, awarded by the CANIEM, for the book Venir del mar, in 2005, and in 2006, the Honourable Mention for Yo, Claudia. In 2013 she won The International Latino Book Award for Best Picture Book for Guacamole, and in 2016, Introducción a la música de concierto: El agua won the Parents Choice Award. She is currently writing her first graphic novel.
