Rosmery Paola Armenteros Herrera is a woman from the Palenque diaspora, a professional in electronic engineering, writer, columnist, and screenwriter. She received a scholarship from the Ministry of Arts, Culture, and Knowledge to study for a diploma in Cultural Management and Governance, and is a member of the District Council for Literary Arts in Cartagena de Indias. Author of twelve works published on Amazon, her book Azabache: Crónicas de Antonia won the Impulso competition in the ‘Literary Arts’ category of the Cartagena Institute of Heritage and Culture (IPCC). In 2024, she participated as a panellist in the Third Meeting of Afro-Latin American Studies at Harvard University, on the panel ‘Reflections on identity and memory in Afro-Colombian and Caribbean literature’, where she presented her paper La emigración de la mujer palenquera y sus orígenes en Brasil (The emigration of the Palenque woman and her origins in Brazil).
