Jane OBUCHI

Jane Bosibori Marando Obuchi is a writer, researcher, and educator. She has taught English and Kiswahili in secondary schools and universities. Her research interest lies in Oral Literature, Translation and Interpretation, Language and Gender, Children's Literature. She has published; Gender Biases in the Language of African Music, The Linguistic Roots of Structuralism, Endabasia Yechinkwana chi’Ekegusii, Chingero chi’Abagusii, Ekegusii translation of: The Upright Revolution, The River Between, I Will MarryWhen I Want, Things Fall Apart, Romeo and Juliet, Kwenzi Gizani, Bembea ya Maisha, Murambi, The Book of Bones which she has also translated into Kiswahili, The Dakar Declaration, Mandela Comes to Leah. She is a member of the Ngugi wa Thiong’o Foundation and Collaborative for The Renewal of Africa. She facilitated in the Itukia Workshop 2021 on Writing and Translation in African Languages. Jane is Chair of Jury for Young African Writers, sponsored by African Union-Economic, Social and Cultural Council.
