An economist and specialist in private finance, financial legislation and senior management, he has worked as a university lecturer, union leader and sports manager. He has distinguished himself as a consultant, researcher and writer on economic, social and cultural issues, and is the co-author of works such as Nueve innings: la cultura del béisbol en el Caribe Colombiano; Pentágono: estudios socioculturales del béisbol; Memorias del béisbol en Bolívar y Cartagena de Indias; and Mapa Tributario de Cartagena. His most recent book, El Hado de Isla Cangrejo: utopías y heterotopías en Cartagena de Indias, offers a profound reflection on the need to transform the city's social and urban dynamics through planning and the strengthening of cultural identity.
