Alexandra León Baños is a social worker with a doctorate in Latin American Social Studies and a solid academic and research background focused on ethnic and racial identities, urban territorial dynamics and interculturality in the Colombian Caribbean. She holds a Master's degree in Caribbean Studies and a specialization in Social Research. She is a full-time lecturer at the University of Cartagena, where she integrates teaching, research and outreach. She is the author of numerous books and articles on social representations, racism, intercultural citizenship and Afro-descendant youth experiences, and has participated in cultural safeguarding projects such as the Special Plan for the Palenquero Language. Her work includes educational, audiovisual and exhibition materials that aim to raise awareness about racial discrimination and promote critical reflection from a social work perspective.
