Ulises Gutiérrez Llantoy was born in Colcabamba, Huancavelica. He is a sanitary engineer and holds a Master’s degree in water treatment from the National University of Engineering. He is currently studying for a Master’s degree in Creative Writing at the University of Salamanca. He has published the books The Cure en Huancayo (2008), Ojos de pez abisal (2011), El año del accarhuay (2017), Cementerio de barcos (2019) and Nuestra luz en la noche (2026). He writes because if he didn’t it would be worse.
