At the age of five, Andrea Martínez realised that being a pirate wasn’t a real job – but she took up fencing just in case. She studied Biology at the Complutense University of Madrid and went on to complete a Master’s degree in Microbiology. She currently balances her studies with creating literary content for social media. Through her account (@literatura.o.barbarie), she champions the role of women in literature. Her book Anónimo es Nombre de Mujer takes the view that rewriting our history also means reading it through a female lens, dismantling the male gaze through a feminist perspective.
