Hernán Cortés is one of Spain’s most renowned contemporary portraitists and painters. He is famous for painting the series of the Fathers of the Constitution, the prime ministers, and the Kings of Spain. He is a full member of the Royal Academy of Fine Arts of San Fernando; the Academy of Fine Arts of Cádiz; and the Hispano-American Academy, among others. He was a member of the Royal Board of Trustees of the Prado Museum, and his work is on display in the collections of major international institutions, such as the Japanese Parliament and New York University, as well as in numerous Spanish public collections, including the Royal Spanish Academy.
