Mar Domínguez, who holds a degree in Information Sciences from the University of the Basque Country, began her career in 1989 at El Correo de Zamora as a reporter covering labour and local affairs. In August 1992, she joined El Norte de Castilla, a Vocento newspaper, where she held various roles, including editor of the Zamora edition, local news editor at the central newsroom in Valladolid, and editor-in-chief of the Valladolid and Province sections. She also served for many years as news editor of the leading newspaper in Castile and León until, in January 2022, she was appointed editor-in-chief of the daily HOY. Since December 2025, she has been director of the Colpisa news agency.
