(Scotland) A cultural journalist based in Pereira, Colombia, Ponsford has an MBA from Glasgow University and in 1998 she won the Simón Bolívar Prize for non-fiction in recognition of her literary journalism. She has been CEO of Cromos magazine, to which she also contributed a column; she was one of the founders of El Malpensante; she has been on the panel of Ministry of Culture prizes and scholarships; and she has worked as editor for the publishing houses Siruela, Turner and Grupo Planeta. Ponsford was also part of the Editorial Advisory Board of the newspaper El Espectador and created the cultural magazine Arcadia which she edited for 10 years. She was the head of CERLALC, a multilateral organization by UNESCO for the promotion of public policy on Reading. She edited 16 Books of the Final Report of the Truth Commission that came out of the Peace Agreement with the FARC guerrilla.
