Lorenzo Silva studied law at the Complutense University of Madrid, after which he worked for several years as a consultant and auditor specializing in the business world. Since 1980, he has balanced his professional career with writing, publishing his first novel in 1995. Since then, he has authored more than fifty books, including novels, children’s and young adult literature, as well as several essays. Silva is best known to the general public for his crime novels, particularly those featuring the Civil Guard duo Bevilacqua and Chamorro. This series includes his best-known titles, such as The Impatient Alchemist—winner of the 2000 Nadal Prize—, The Weakness of the Bolshevik—adapted for film—, and The Mark of the Meridian—winner of the 2012 Planeta Prize—.
