Antonio Ortiz, a Colombian writer born in 1972, has distinguished himself as the first author in Colombia to write novels about adolescent issues. His works are based on the real lives of young people and seek to reflect challenges such as family isolation, mental health and youth addiction. The author himself has been a teacher for decades and has heard his students' stories first-hand, and his books’ plots draw on this experience. Major works published by him include Maleducada (2015), La extraña en mí (2016), Un silencio prohibido (2017), Lo que nunca te dije: Relato de una vida imposible (2018), Descubriendo a Miranda (2022), and his most recent book La lluvia guarda secretos (2024).
