Our Benefactors contribute to the Festival's ongoing development aims. With our Benefactors' generosity and support we are able to extend the reach and accessibility of the Festival further than ever before.

As a Benefactor you will receive the following benefits:

  • A 3-month subscription to Hay Festival Book Club.
  • ‍A signed copy (wherever possible) of the Hay Festival Book of the Year 
  • ‍Monthly newsletters with previews into upcoming Hay Festival events 
  • ‍Four Hay Festival Anytime subscriptions, which can be shared with friends and family.

At the live Hay Festival, Hay-on-Wye you will receive the following benefits, helping make your visit extra special:

  • Your name will be printed in the Festival programmes, and displayed on the supporter page of the website and on screens situated on the Festival Site
  • ‍Reserved seating in the Festival venues, where possible
  • ‍Access to the Patrons and Benefactors Hub - a private area for supporters to relax between events, with a concierge desk service and cloakroom facilities
  • Access for you and one guest to the Artists’ Restaurant to mix with Festival artists and speakers (food & beverages to be paid on account separately)
  • ‍Invitations to special receptions and parties at each Festival
  • ‍Complimentary daily pass to the official Hay Festival car park
  • ‍Complimentary tickets to all our Festivals around the world. (The cost of the tickets claimed in 1 year may not exceed the value of the Benefits). 
  • Advice about travel and accommodation to and at international festivals, as well as providing a ‘Director’s cut’ of each programme (upon request).

The membership is for five years and two people. The cost of becoming a Benefactor is £10,000 for five years (or £2,500 per annum).

Gift Aid Declaration

To support the Foundation, you may wish to Gift Aid any donation made today or in the future, and any donation you may have made in the past four years to the Hay Festival Foundation. A minimum payment of £1,000 per annum secures all benefits (whether you pay annually or as a one-off payment) and you may purchase these benefits separately without making any further donation. The balance of £1,500 is a suggested donation to the Hay Festival Foundation and gift aid can be claimed on this amount to support to the Foundation’s programmes.
