Imagina Latinoamérica (Imagine Latin America) is a series of 10 digital and face-to-face talks, in collaboration with Open Society Foundations and with the support of CAF -banco de desarrollo de América Latina-, that will be held from June 2022 to January 2023. This talks will be available at our web page and on social media channels of Hay Festival and El País, media partner of the project.
Imagining and promoting, through inclusive cultural activities for all audiences, processes of change in civil society in the region, creating dialogues on the issue of care, linked to feminism, environmentalism, South-South support, the legalization of drugs, to the native peoples, to democratic processes, to the informal economy, to the new historical narratives about slavery and colonization, etc.
This process of making visible and debating within the framework of the Hay Festival, seeks to reach non-traditional audiences for cultural activities, reaching population groups with low educational levels and from vulnerable environments. We are interested in proposals that go beyond the discursive mainstream and thosw who offer constructive criticism, with new narratives and new possible solutions to problems in the region.
