The festival is put together by hundreds of people, from building the site and producing the events to welcoming our guests and spreading the word. We're currently looking for a Digital Content Manager, Communications Coordinator and Trustees to join our Board of Directors.

Digital Content Manager 

£38,000 per annum

Hay Festival are seeking an experienced Digital Content Manager. This is a dynamic role within the Hay Festival communications team focused on shaping and delivering creative digital content that enhances Hay Festival Foundation’s impact, reputation and recognition. With a focus on delivering compelling storytelling in innovative forms, the Digital Content Manager will support the growth of our digital communities and strength of our brand, while increasing our revenue potential via new platforms. This role is key in supporting and shaping our ambitious programme of festivals, projects and events across the UK

The Digital Content Manager will be a self-motivated target driven individual who has an understanding of digital production, audience behaviours and the latest trends.

Essential

  • Minimum of 3 years’ experience in digital content production, digital marketing, or related communications roles.
  • Proven track record of managing diverse social media platforms and digital content tools.
  • Excellent copywriting and storytelling skills.
  • Strong organisational and project management skills with the ability to juggle multiple priorities.
  • Familiarity with design or video editing software (e.g. Canva, Adobe Creative Suite, Premiere Pro, Final Cut Pro).
  • Familiarity with SEO tools, analytics platforms and a deep understanding of digital audiences, analytics, and evolving engagement behaviours.
  • Comprehensive knowledge of digital marketing best practices and emerging trends.
  • Creative, proactive thinker with the confidence to identify and act on new opportunities.

Desirable

  • Experience within arts, culture, publishing, or non-profit sectors.
  • Proficiency in additional languages, particularly Welsh and/or Spanish

Communications Coordinator 

£28,000 per annum

Hay Festival are seeking a Communications Coordinator. This is a central support role within the Hay Festival communications team focused on delivering creative communications campaigns to enhance Hay Festival Foundation’s impact, reputation and recognition. With a focus on streamlining comms processes and growing engagement across our digital channels, the Communications Coordinator will support across a broad range of commercial and outreach projects. Skills Specification

The Communications Coordinator will be a self-motivated individual who understands comms functions for charities and the cultural sector.

 Essential 

  • Proven experience managing a variety of social media platforms and digital content tools.
  • Strong organisational and time-management skills with exceptional attention to detail.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English, with strong copywriting ability.
  • Demonstrated understanding of communications best practice and digital engagement trends.
  • ·Collaborative team player with excellent interpersonal skills and a proactive approach.

Desirable

  • Experience within the arts, literary, or not-for-profit sectors.
  • Familiarity with CRM systems, email marketing, or basic graphic design tools (e.g., Canva, Adobe Creative Suite)
  • Additional language skills, particularly Welsh and/or Spanish.

Hay Festival Foundation Ltd  - Trustees 

Hay Festival Foundation are seeking trustee/s with skills in the following areas:

• International experience within cultural or creative sectors
• Digital production and media expertise
• Fund development and high-net-worth access
• Capital project and infrastructure development

This is a voluntary Board position which is unremunerated, with reasonable expenses for travel and accommodation. Applicants are not geographically restricted.
