Coinciding with the publication in Spanish of the Mexico20 anthology, a Hay Festival project bringing the work of twenty young Mexican writers under the age of forty to an international readership, Malcolm Otero Barral, Mexico20’s editor, talks to two of the authors published in the anthology, Laia Jufresa and Carlos Velázquez. Laia Jufresa is author of The Cornerist, given an honorary mention by the San Luis Potosi short story prize, and Umami. Carlos Velázquez is author of El karma de vivir en el norte, and winner of the Magdalena Mondragón National Prize and the Carlos Montemayor Prize.
