Fencing, dueling and fighting in the time of Shakespeare and Cervantes

JESÚS ESPERANZA AND HIS ACTOR’S SCHOOL

Venue: Palacio de Turégano

Spanish fencing champion Jesús Esperanza is justly famous for his behind-the-scenes work with many of Spain’s leading actors and his work on innumerable Spanish television series and movies. Here he presents a two-part spectacle. The first is a 30-minute class for members of the public in the use of weapons during the times of Shakespeare and Cervantes, demonstrated by his team. There then follow recreations of the duels between don Quijote and the Knight of the Mirrors and Hamlet and Laertes.

With the participation of local school children, who may access from 12:30 pm to the bibliobus at Palacio Turégano’s door.

Free entry tickets had to be collected at bibliobus. Places are free, but on a first come first serve basis.
