Over the last 25 years, British actress Haydn Gwynne has earned a reputation for playing a wide range of roles, from Women on the Edge of a Nervous Breakdown, to West End musical Billy Elliot, and most recently in the National Theatre production of Bertolt Brecht’s The Threepenny Opera. She talks to Anne McElvoy, Senior Editor of The Economist and presenter of BBC Radio’s arts and ideas Night Waves programme, about women’s growing presence in European theatre.
