Almudena Sánchez (Spain), selected in 2019 as one of the ten best Spanish writers in their thirties by AECID, on their “10 de 30” list, is the author of the book of short stories La acústica de los iglús (2016) and the autobiographical book Fármaco (2021). This work deals with a subject that is painful, debilitating and also taboo: depression. The author looks at the history of the ailment in order to explore and understand her own mental illness, and she talks about the experience of living under medication, with all the highs and lows this involves.
