Concert. Filarmed Ensemble and the Emberá Philharmonic

The Hay Festival Jerico closes with a concert by two wonderful Antioquia orchestras. The Medellin Philharmonic Orchestra, founded in 1983, is based at the Metropolitan Theatre of Medellin and is one of the most important professional orchestras in Colombia. The Emberá is the first indigenous philharmonic orchestra in Colombia. Founded in 2018 in the municipality of Valparaiso, Antioquia, it is currently made up of 47 children from the Emberá Chamí culture.
