Cindy Herrera and María del Mar Ramón in conversation with Mar Pichel

Two writers will talk with Mar Pichel about their recently published books, in which they reflect on experiences and points of view linked to very specific realities: those observed and experienced by women. With the Cartagena writer Cindy Herrera, an audio-visual producer, qualified in Linguistics and Literature and a member of the Cuento y crónica writing workshop run by the Colombian Ministry of Culture’s Relata network. Her latest book is El manifiesto del espejo,a collection of 14 stories that all have women at the centre. And with María del Mar Ramón, a feminist and Colombian writer living in Argentina, co-founder of the Argentinean NGO Red de Mujeres and coordinator of the Fanáticas de los Boliches project, which aims to raise gender awareness at rumba venues. She is the author of La manada, a novel that explores the intricacies of group attacks. A city and a society that could be anywhere in Latin America; this is the setting for an exploration of masculinity. The book examines the motivations, fears and frustrations of a group of young men who will live the rest of their days knowing they are responsible for a life that is not their own.
