Marcel Velázquez, who has a doctorate in Latin American Literature, is an essayist and has many followers on Twitter. The author of numerous books, his work specialises in Andean cultural history, covering themes related to literature, the press, racism and anti-clericalism. His most recent book, about which he will talk with Magally Alegre Henderson, is Cuerpos vulnerados. Servidumbre infantil y anticlericalismo en el Perú 1840-1920. The text deals with the matter of child sexual abuse by priests in the early 20th century, as well as the coverage of the issue by the anti-clerical press.
