June Cohen in conversation with Anne Balsamo

June Cohen, co-founder of TED Talks and one of the key figures behind transforming TED into a global media platform, joins Hay Festival Forum Dallas to discuss her new book, The Great Remembering. Drawing on years of research into communities around the world, Cohen explores what ancient and traditional ways of living can teach us about some of the challenges of contemporary life, from loneliness and disconnection to our search for meaning and belonging.

Moderated by Anne Balsamo, Arts and Humanities Distinguished University Chair and Professor at The University of Texas at Dallas, the conversation will explore how practices rooted in community, ritual, connection, and shared experience might offer useful lessons for modern life, while also reflecting on Cohen’s career at the intersection of ideas, media, and storytelling, and her experience helping bring ideas to audiences around the world.
