A festival closing event to commemorate Arequipa's most representative poet. An evening that will fuse tradition with modernity, featuring both the poems of Mariano Melgar and contemporary Yaraví composers. J. M. Coetzee and Valerie Miles will recite some of the poems they have translated for the bilingual Spanish-English edition, Mariano Melgar: poesía de amor y rebelión, accompanied by traditional melodies.
