The series L’invention de la cuisine, the work of documentary film-maker and amateur chef Paul Lacoste, portrays five great chefs whose work, like French cuisine itself, is always being reinvented. This is an opportunity to see two of the five films.

(Paul Lacoste, 2003. Duration 52 minutes.)

Michel Bras, with his three Michelin stars, is one of France’s best-known chefs. Through four of his dishes, we discover and taste the chef’s creative process.

(Paul Lacoste, 2003. Duration 52 minutes.)

Pierre Gagnaire is an outstanding chef and a relentless creator. His menu changes every month, his dishes change every day, and he is able to improvise and bring a different attitude to any recipe, depending on the product, moment, and guest.
