Wheelchair access at the Hay Festival

Wheelchair access

To book wheelchair space in performance venues, or if you require a BSL interpreter, please inform the Box Office staff when booking your tickets (when booking online, please specify your requirements using the 'Notes' box at checkout).

Disabled parking is available on the Festival site. You can reserve a disabled parking space (blue badge holders only) when booking your tickets by phone, or you can use our online parking booking form. Parking tickets can be added to your basket and purchased at the same time as event tickets.

All venues, restaurants, cafés, bar and bookshop have wheelchair access and all performance venues are fitted with an induction loop. If you need any assistance on site, please ask a steward. Disabled access toilets are available on site.

Hard of hearing at the Hay Festival

Hard of hearing

All seated venues have an area covered by infrared hearing assistance. Please inform a steward as soon as you arrive at the venue and they will supply the receiver and loop. We also work with the RNID to give deaf and hearing-impaired readers greater access to the Festival than the induction loops, which are sometimes skewed by the aluminium structures of our tents. We will be palantyping selected events at the Festival.
