Raja Kirik is an Indonesian duo consisting of Yennu Ariendra and J. Mo'ong Santoso Pribadi, two artists who draw on Java's rich cultural traditions and history of fighting colonial oppression to create music that surprises, challenges and educates in equal measure. Their music is inspired by the sound of shamanic trance dances, specifically the Jaranan, or Jathilan, a dance from the 11th century Hindu-Buddhist era.
