Daniel Samper Pizano is a journalist, writer, editor, screenplay writer and educator with a La Guajira ancestry. During his career he has written more than thirty books as well as articles for numerous publications. He has also won journalism awards in Colombia, the United States and Spain. At this event he will talk about his two great passions with the anthropologist Weildler Guerra and the journalist Pepe Palacio Coronado.

In the book Soledad & Compañía, Silvana Paternostro portrays him through stories told by people close to him. Xavi Ayén is the author of Aquellos años del boom, a book dedicated to Latin American literature’s Boom, for which he interviewed Gabo, even through the great writer had not granted interviews for twenty years.

Two prominent contemporary Spanish writers will talk to readers: Alonso Cueto, Peruvian author, whose most popular works include La hora azul (Herralde 2005 Price), El susurro de la mujer ballena (Planeta-Casa de América 2007 Price), Juan Carlos Onetti: El soñador en la penumbra and Cuerpos secretos: Ignacio Martínez de Pisón is the author of novels such as Carreteras secundarias, María bonita and La buena reputación, and has co-written screenplays for the successful films Las trece rosas and Chico & Rita.
